[Satellite Today 10-09-09] Comtech Mobile Datacom Corp. received orders totaling $33.4 million under its Movement Tracking System (MTS) contract with the U.S. Army, the company announced Oct. 7.

            The orders are for the supply of a limited number of V2 systems, which feature Comtech’s Model MT-2012 mobile satellite transceivers, integrated with Savi Technology‘s EchoPoint RFID Reader and encrypted GPS module. The bulk of the order is for in-vehicle installation kits that will be used in connection with the upgrading of MTS ruggedized computers in previously deployed MTS V2 systems. The order also includes engineering and technical support services in the United States and around the globe.

            Total orders received to date against the $605.1 million MTS contract now stand at $582.2 million, Comtech said.
