Space Systems Command (SSC) awarded SES Space & Defense a blanket purchase agreement to deliver multi-orbit, multi-band satellite capabilities to United States European Command (USEUCOM). The purchase agreement announced Monday has a ceiling value of $117 million.
USEUCOM is one of 11 Unified Combatant Commands in the U.S. military. It provides command and control of U.S. military forces in Europe.
SES said that it partnered with other industry players to provide managed services in the satellite communication bands UHF, L-, C-, X-, Ku- and Mil-Ka-bands in the USEUCOM region. SES will also provide commercial teleport and terrestrial transport backhaul services to government entry points (GEP).
SES Space & Defense will deliver program management support, bandwidth management, network monitoring, and the opportunity to procure VSAT equipment.
“To support the DoD needs we have assembled a team comprised of the best in the industry to deliver multi-band, multi-orbit commercial satcom capabilities that provide alternate satcom paths for greater network resiliency and flexibility required to achieve mission success,” said David Fields, president and CEO of SES Space & Defense.
