AT&T CruiseCast soft-launched its $1,299 mobile satellite entertainment device for automotive vehicles at about 373 retail outlets, the company announced.
AT&T CruiseCast, a joint venture between RaySat and AT&T, is working with car stereo specialists, expediters and distributors in efforts to sign up just a small number of customers to test its distribution, merchandising and promotional network. AT&T CruiseCase also is requiring that retailers receive installation training on the device.
The soft launch comes after production and development delays. The company’s original plans called for a full launch of the product and service in March.
The company is targeting a hard-launch date in early June.
