MITEQ Introduces New Low-Noise Block Converter
Miteq’s LNBF-2440-04 Low-Noise Block Converter offers a very wide instantaneous bandwidth of 16 gigahertz (GHz). The LNBF unit incorporates a fixed frequency 42-GHz Phase Locked Local Oscillator and Low Phase-Noise OCXO. Reference Oscillator to convert the full 24-GHz to 40-GHz RF-band down to a 2-GHz to 18-GHz IF-band. The unit also includes a 16-GHz instantaneous bandwidth fiber optic transmitter. The LNBF is packaged in a 5-by-5 inch ruggedized aluminum housing with an integrated heatsink. The SCMR-18G optical receiver unit is packaged in a miniature 0.8-by-0.7-inch housing. Standard optical connectors are FC/APC type. (MITEQ, 100 Davids Drive Hauppauge, NY 11788, Tel: 631/436-7400, Fax: 631/436-7430, Web: www.miteq.com)
Spirent Unveils GPS/Galileo Simulation System
Spirent Communications has developed its GSS7900 GPS/Galileo Simulation System, which will support testing of free-to-use signals from both GPS and Galileo systems.
The simulator is derived from Spirent’s GSS7700 GPS simulator and the GSS7800 Galileo simulator developed in 2006 to support testing of the Galileo Ground Mission Segment and Test User Segment programs. Thales Launches new mini TWT for portable satellite uplink systems
The TH 4080 designed by Thales has been developed to incorporate transmitter amplifier for light satellite communications mobile systems such as VSATs used in commercial and military applications requiring up to 150-watt peak power. The TH 4080 is a mini traveling wave tube (TWT) operating in Ka-band at 27.5 to 31 GHz. The TH 4080 applies the proven technology of the TH 4062, TH 4072 and TH 4082 Thales families of high power TWTs for satellite uplinks and meets military standards for vibrations, shocks and temperatures.
