Intelsat has purchased a Glowlink Model 8000 Satellite Geolocation System to monitor sources of potential interference to its satellite signals, Glowlink announced Oct. 20.

The spectrum monitoring and geolocation system can monitor satellites from remote locations and is controlled from either a single operation center or multiple operation centers.

“The Glowlink Model 8000 has had a positive effect on Intelsat’s network operations,” Khalid Chaudhry, Intelsat’s vice president of network operations, said in a statement. “It has enabled us to clear valuable capacity, thereby helping to improve the quality of our services as well as our financial returns on our network.”
