Globecast has signed a content deal with Verizon enabling the North American telco to offer a variety channels to customers in the United States.

Globecast will supply Globecast WorldTV international television channels for distribution over Verizon’s Fios TV and broadband platforms. Globecast WorldTV initially will furnish signal transport and licensing rights for up to 37 international channels from Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia, with plans to add another 40 channels during 2007.

The agreement allows Verizon to make Globecast WorldTV programming available to consumers on both a linear and VOD distribution basis.
