Lockheed Martin’s second modernized GPS Block 2R satellite for the U.S. Air Force is set for a Sept. 25 launch aboard a Delta 2 rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla.

Lockheed Martin Navigation Systems is under contract to modernize eight 2R satellites, which are designed to provide improved navigation services for U.S. military and civilian users around the globe.
