Boeing’s Completes More Wideband Gapfiller Tests
Boeing Co.‘s Wideband Gapfiller Satellite program completed two more space-to-ground compatibility tests, the company announced July 27.
Working with Universal Space Network (USN) and ITT Industries, Boeing demonstrated the compatibility between the satellite’s telemetry, command and ranging systems as well as with the USN’s ground network.
Boeing is under contract with the U.S. Air Force to build three Wideband Gapfiller communications satellites and the service has authorized Boeing to begin work on a fourth. The first spacecraft is scheduled to be launched in June 2007.
