NASA Issues Request For Information For Pyrotechnic Products

      NASA issued a request for information for contractors supplying pyrotechnic products to be used on the upper stage of the future Crew Launch Vehicle.

      Specifically, the space agency is interested in a wide array of products.

      They include explosive transfer lines, including flexible confined detonating cord, confined detonating fuse, and shielded mild detonating cord; manifolds for explosive transfer lines; linear shaped charges; frangible joints such as expanding tube joint; through bulkhead initiators; separation nuts / pressure cartridges; pyrotechnic delays, and disconnection devices for explosive transfer lines.

      The due date for responses specific to pyrotechnics and separation systems is Aug. 11. Documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet, at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=D&pin=62.
