Raytheon Co. won a contract from the U.S. Navy to provide mission support systems to satellite communications terminals, the company announced July 13.

Under the five-year, $75 million contract, Raytheon will maintain and upgrade the service’s terminals, below deck electronics and above deck antennas throughout their service life. The mission support services maintain and upgrade software and hardware components, providing technology upgrades as needed and delivering field service support. Some of the current systems have been in service for 20 years and will continue to be in service under the contract.

Separately, the U.S. Air Force GPS Joint Program Office awarded Raytheon a contract to design next-generation receivers. The contract carries an initial value of $38 million, and Raytheon could receive an additional award to complete development and fabricate preproduction receiver cards for test and integration in host systems.
