The U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) awarded Summation Research Inc. (SRI) a contract to provide components for the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites (GOES) weather satellite system.

Under the deal, valued at more than $400,000, SRI will supply advanced multi-functional satellite demodulators to replace outdated satellite ground station equipment at facilities in Wallops, Va., and Fairbanks, Alaska.

The demodulators receive images, sounds and solar X-ray data collected by the GOES satellites and disseminate the data to users of NOAA services.
