SES Astra has signed a transponder deal with U.K. transmission service company Arqiva. The capacity subcontracted by SES Astra at the orbital position 28.2 degrees/ 28.5 degrees East will be used by Arqiva to help meet the demand from the rapidly growing number of U.K. channels launching on the Sky platform.

Arqiva provides end-to-end media solutions for content and channel providers and is a supplier of satellite solutions for the U.K. direct-to-home market.

This is the fourth contract deal Astra has signed with Arqiva.
