Panamsat Corp. announced April 17 that it had repointed a beam on the PAS-8 Pacific Ocean Region satellite to effectively reach every corner of New Zealand, New Caledonia and Fiji. Panamsat received authorization from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission to redirect the Ku-band South East Asia beam of the PAS-8 Satellite to cover the southwest Pacific, thus opening up these markets for additional Panamsat services.
