The Israeli Earth Remote Observation Satellite (EROS) B remote sensing satellite has been delivered to Svobodny cosmodrome in Russia in advance of its scheduled April 25 launch, Itar-Tass reported.

A Russian Start-1 rocket will place the satellite in a 600-kilometer solar-synchronous orbit for operator Imagesat International. EROS B will be able to collect images with a ground resolution of 0.7 meters and is expected to operate for 10 years.

Israel’s first commercial imagery satellite, EROS A, was launched from Svobodny in December 2000 and collects images with a resolution of 1.9 meters.
