Globecomm Systems Inc., announced March 28 that the company received a contract modification from a U.S. Government prime contractor increasing the base contract by $3.8 million.

Under the contract, Globecomm will provide satellite infrastructure at multiple locations throughout the United States and anticipates that it will take just over a year to design, deliver, install and test the delivered equipment.

Globecomm announced the original contract award, valued at slightly more than $7 million, in December. This modification increases the base infrastructure contract to about $11 million.
