OpenTV, which supplies middleware and other interactive solutions to satellite pay-TV operators worldwide, has seen some strong growth in overall revenues. This was one of the highlights as the company announced its full year results. For the year ended Dec. 31, 2005, the company had overall revenues of $86.4 million, an increase of more than 12 percent compared to the same stage last year. The last quarter also bought some positive momentum in terms of profits. It had a profit of $2.9 million for the quarter, which reflects a $9.2 million swing from $6.3 million net loss in the fourth quarter of 2004.

The company will now hope to keep this momentum going for 2006. In its most recent deal this year, the company signed a deal with the Essel Group, a diversified media and communications company that is India’s largest cable and satellite operator, to deploy OpenTV’s software and services. The deal marked OpenTV’s entry point into the potentially lucrative Indian pay-TV market.
