Landmark Aviation signed an agreement to distribute Arinc‘s high-speed satellite broadband communications systems for business aircraft, Arinc announced March 8.
Landmark, a provider of business aviation services, will sell and install the Skylink by Arinc Direct service in the North American corporate jet aftermarket. The Ku-band service enables applications such as e-mail, virtual private networks and Voice-over-Internet-Protocol in-flight.
“Ultra-high speed satellite communications, like Skylink’s in-flight services, will likely become a business requirement for corporate aircraft within a few years,” Mike Anderson, director of avionics at Landmark, said in a statement.
Skylink coverage is available across North America and service is expected to expand into European countries, the Middle East and the North Atlantic before the end of 2006.
