El Al Israel Airlines signed a definitive agreement to receive Connexion by Boeing‘s in-flight high-speed Internet access service for its passengers, the two companies said. The agreement calls for the installation of the Connexion by Boeing service to begin in the second half of this year on El Al’s long haul fleet. Installation completion is expected by 2007. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“El Al is proud to be among some of the first airlines in the world to provide passengers with high-speed in-flight Internet service,” Yoav Levy, El Al deputy general manager of commerce and aviation relations said in a prepared statement.

In a separate announcement, Connexion by Boeing and Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) said that SAS would be the first international carrier to introduce the Connexion by Boeing wireless in-flight Internet service to flights between Seattle and Copenhagen, Denmark. SAS passengers on planes equipped with the Connexion by Boeing service will have the option to pay $29.95 for unlimited Internet access during the flight or $9.95 for the first 30 minutes of connectivity and 25 cents per minute thereafter.
