Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. said its U.S.-based subsidiary, Spacenet Inc., was selected by Wendy’s Restaurants of Rochester Inc. to provide a Connexstar broadband satellite network to link 123 Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburger restaurants across five states. The Connexstar VSAT high-speed network will support remote control solution, point-of-sale polling, Internet access and other retail network applications, as well as credit/debit card authorizations.

“We found the Connexstar service to be the ideal platform to provide the fast, high-capacity, always-on connectivity needed for our advanced applications,” Randy Traugott, vice president of marketing for Wendy’s of Rochester said in a prepared statement.
