Arianespace has given the go-ahead to launch an Ariane 5 ECA heavy-lift rocket on Feb. 12 from its launch site in Kourou, French Guiana, one day later than originally scheduled, following the completion of a launch readiness review. The rocket will be carrying the Xtar-Eur governmental X-band telecommunications satellite as its primary payload. The launch was delayed after a problem was discovered with the ground equipment during final preparations for the launch. Arianespace said it replaced equipment on the rocket to address the anomaly.
