Russian News Agency Novosti reported Jan. 31 that Kazakhstan is planning to launch its first satellite, named KazSat, in December from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The satellite will be used for television broadcasting and other communications applications and will serve Kazakhstan, Central Asia and parts of Russia.
