Audiovox Corp. yesterday launched its SkyBox satellite television antenna designed for vehicles such as SUVs, minivans and recreational vehicles. The antenna, designed by RaySat, is described by the company as “a sleek-looking 5.7-inch high” ultra low-profile antenna that mounts on the roof of a vehicle. The antenna can receive satellite television signals from either Dish Network or DirecTV in the United States and ExpressVU in Canada.

“Audiovox is the ideal partner for RaySat in bringing this product to market and will generate an immediate impact at retail,” RaySat President and CEO Samer Salameh said in a prepared statement.

“We believe SkyBox will be a big draw for the high-end SUV owner,” Tom Malone, senior vice president of sales at Audiovox added. “Dealers will see it increase their sales and profits dramatically.”
