Intelsat late yesterday said it has received the necessary regulatory approval to proceed with its sale to private equity company Zeus Holdings Ltd.

Intelsat still has not revealed whether the recent problems with the Intelsat Americas-7 or the temporary grounding of Intelsat Americas-8 will impact its sale to Zeus, which has the option to void the purchase agreement based on the problems with the satellites. A call to Intelsat seeking an update on the status of the sale was not returned by the time Satellite Today went to press.
