Comtech Telecommunications Corp. today said its Comtech Mobile Datacom Corp. subsidiary received initial orders for its new MTS Lite products from the Iraq Project and Contracting Office. The orders are for mobile satellite transceivers, ruggedized computers, installation, training, field support and satellite service time. The technology will provide Task Force Shield and Task Force Restore Iraqi Oil with an L-band satellite tracking and messaging system for use in direct support of the reconstruction and protection of the Iraqi oil infrastructure. The system will provide the ability to send near real-time, one-way panic distress signals, as well as two-way messaging and mapping between commercial vehicles and base stations.
