Satmex 5 Goes Into Self-Protect Model

Satellite Today has learned that Satmex 5, which provides communications services in Mexico, is experiencing some problems. According to reports, the satellite went into self-protect mode early yesterday, but the cause of the problems is as yet unknown. Satmex 5 is operated by Mexico’s Satellites Mexicanos. The bird was built by Boeing [BA].
