Telesat said its Anik F2 satellite now is fully operational, ushering in what the company hopes will be a new era in satellite broadband communications. The satellite will provide a number of services, including high-speed satellite Internet services for Telesat and WildBlue Communications; direct-to-home satellite television services for Star Choice Communications; and interactive healthcare, learning and e-government initiatives backed by the Canadian government.
