The U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) granted the SWE-Dish FA150T Mil Fly-Away system a certificate for operation on the Defense Satellite Communication System’s X-band space segment. According to the manufacturer, the FA150T system is a rugged, easy to transport satellite earth terminal that gives tri-band (Ku-, C- and X-band) satellite communications capabilities to mobile command posts, tactical units and theater broadcast elements. Data capability ranges from 64 Kbps to 60 Kbps; IP- encrypted traffic is allowed.
