Despite the recent surge in hurricane activity in Florida, International Launch Services (ILS) and Lockheed Martin [LMT] said the launch facilities at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station survived “relatively unscathed,” and the two companies continue to prepare for the launch of the Lockheed Martin-built AMC-16 satellite for SES Americom on board an Atlas V rocket this December. The launch vehicle arrived at the Cape last week and was secured before government-ordered evacuations took effect. The launcher sustained no damage during the storms.
