Northrop Grumman Taps EMS For EHF Contract Help

By Staff Writer | September 14, 2004

Atlanta-based EMS Technologies [ELMG] said its space and technology division was chosen by Northrop Grumman [NOC] to develop an Extremely High Frequency (EHF) Satellite Communication Antenna Systems for the U.S. Air Force’s B-2 Stealth Bomber. Northrop Grumman’s Integrated Systems sector is the B-2’s prime contractor.

The antenna system will allow worldwide, high-data-rate, military-satellite communications between the B-2, MILSTAR and Advanced EHF (AEHF) satellites.

The system design is based on antenna systems EMS developed and produced for commercial in-flight satellite entertainment.
