Bankruptcy Court Approves DirecTV/Pegasus/NRTC Settlement

According to the National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative (NRTC), a U.S. bankruptcy judge approved its final settlement of legal disputes brought by Pegasus Satellite Television against the group. NRTC added that the court okayed a “dismissal with prejudice” of all claims Pegasus brought against NRTC and The DirecTV Group Inc. [DTV].
This approval is the last step in eliminating Pegasus’ exclusive deal to market DirecTV direct-to-home satellite television services to certain rural regions in the United States, and it opens the doors for DirecTV to target those markets directly.
