By Staff Writer | August 26, 2004

Digital video systems provider SeaChange International racked up record revenues in the second quarter. Revenues for the period ending July 31 reached $43 million, a 18- percent increase compared with the same stage last year. Video-on-demand (VOD) systems revenues for the second quarter totaled $25.2 million, a 43-percent increase compared with 2Q03.

The company is playing a key role in powering VOD globally, and it is helping broadband, broadcast and satellite-television companies to expand their service offers in this area. The company is particular strong in the cable and telecom sector, where these carriers are looking to put pressure on their satellite pay-TV counterparts.

“Beyond our North American cable customers, we have gained additional cable and telecom customers that are initiating VOD services around the world,” noted Bill Styslinger, SeaChange’s president and CEO.
