Viasat Shows Slow Subscriber Growth

Modern Times Group (MTG) subsidiary Viasat, a pay-TV operator in the Nordic region, reports 642,000 digital pay-TV subscribers at the end of June. So far this year, the DTH operator has added around 13,000 new subs. The operator also has nearly completed the transition to the NDS VideoGuard Encryption system, a move expected to give the company a huge boost to make up for a downturn in recent months caused by smart-card piracy in the region.
