Amazonas Liftoff Successful

International Launch Services successfully launched the EADS Astrium-built Amazonas satellite into orbit yesterday from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 6:32 p.m. EDT. The satellite will be used by Hispasat of Spain to provide a variety of communications services to its subsidiaries.
