Petah Tikvah, Israel-based Gilat Satellite‘s [GILTF] Spacenet subsidiary in McLean, Va., was chosen by the American Municipal Power Ohio (AMP-Ohio) to provide a high-speed VSAT network. Spacenet Connextar service will provide remote control for more than 100 transmission substations to carry vital data to a network operated by AMP-Ohio, a nonprofit association of 89municipal electric communities in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Financial terms were not disclosed.
