Rockwell Collins [NYSE: COL], a Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based provider of communications and aviation electronics, has received a contract from the Department of Defense‘s GPS Joint Program to supply GPS receivers for the U.S. military. The eight-year contract, which starts in November 2004, is expected to yield approximately $238-$328 million in sales for Rockwell Collins. The hand-held GPS receiver will be used by the U.S. Army for precise timing on the battlefield.
