The French military has purchased 40 GPS survey systems made by Trimble [Nasdaq: TRMB], a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based maker of GPS devices. Financial terms were not disclosed. The military forces will use the GPS equipment to collect data for topographic maps, geodetic control, and boundary surveys.
