Betzdorf, Luxembourg-based SatLynx, a two-way broadband satellite services provider, is expanding its reach through a partnership with another Luxembourg company, Infotechnique, a subsidiary of Getronics Group.

SatLynx, a joint venture of SES Global and Gilat Satellite Networks [NYSE: GILTF], will provide Infotechnique with two-way satellite SCPC (single channel per carrier) connectivity between France and the island nations of Madagascar and Mauritius.

SatLynx won the deal because of its capability to meet security, confidentiality and compliance requirements, company officials said. SCPC services operate independently from terrestrial components.

Two-way broadband satellite communications are tailored for high-speed, secured cross-border links within Europe or from Europe to other regions. “Two-way satellite is the ideal solution that enables the secure and high-speed transfer of rich content between dispersed sites,” said Daniel Velluet, managing director of Infotechnique. SatLynx provides an “ideally suited” satellite-based service that completes the communications connections of Infotechnique’s AMALFI (Alsace Moselle Application for a Computerized Property Register) project, he added. –Paul Dykewicz
