New York-based Sirius Satellite Radio [Nasdaq: SIRI] expects the rest of 2003 to be a banner year in terms of subscriber growth.

The satellite radio provider’s management might have good reason for its optimism after nearly doubling its subscriber numbers during the first quarter, reaching 68,000 from 38,000 at year-end 2002. Management also expects to reach 300,000 subscribers by the end of this year.
