Rome Research, a Rome, N.Y.-based subsidiary of PAR Technology [NYSE: PTC], landed a $3.4 million contract to operate and maintain a Department of Defense teleport commercial satellite terminal system at the global information grid (GIG) facility, Camp Roberts, Calif.

The teleport is a link in the Defense Information Systems Agency worldwide communication network providing satellite communications users access to the agency’s network and to cross-banding between multiple satcom systems. The GIG provides capabilities from all operating locations (bases, posts, camps, stations, facilities, mobile platforms and deployed sites), plus interfaces to coalition, allied and non-DoD users and systems.
