EchoStar’s Revenues Jump 23 Percent
EchoStar Communications [Nasdaq:DISH] Tuesday reported 2003 first-quarter revenues of $1.36 billion, a 23 percent increase from $1.1 billion for the same period in 2002. The company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) totaled $277 million, an improvement of $100 million compared to $177 million during the January-March period a year ago. Free cash flow from operations totaled $125 million for the quarter, an improvement of $36 million for a year ago.
EchoStar’s net income totaled $58 million for first quarter, compared to a net loss of $35 million for the same period last year. Earnings per share for the quarter were 12 cents, compared to a loss per share of 20 cents a year ago..
