French pay TV operator Canal Satellite will launch a concerted TV campaign to promote the benefits of its new Pilotime service being offering to its subscriber base in France. Laurent de Camas, Canal Satellite’s vice president of marketing, told SATELLITE TODAY: “On Monday, we are beginning a TV campaign for Pilotime on all the national channels and also the thematic channels on Canal Satellite. It will be a 40-second TV spot.”

Pilotime uses a next-generation set-top box, which has an array of features such as a dual tuner, to enable users to simultaneously watch and record programs. It also gives users the possibility to pause live television and later view the programming. The box has an 80 gigabytes hard drive, which can hold the equivalent of 40 hours of programming. Users will pay 20 euros (US$21.6) a month in addition to their regular subscription charge for Pilotime.

An exclusive interview with Laurent de Camas can be found in the April 23 issue of Interspace. For more information about subscribing to PBI Media’s satellite newsletters, check out our Web site at https://www.satellitetoday.com
