PanAmSat [Nasdaq: SPOT] recently expanded its North American operations through long-term and multi-year contracts with Starz Encore, Rigler Deutsch and HDNet. PanAmSat’s contracts with the three companies support the delivery of content to nearly 10,000 cable headends in the United States alone.

The HDNet contract also makes PanAmSat the only satellite service provider to distribute high-definition television around the clock. In addition, PanAmSat’s recent extension of a long-term agreement with SpaceConnection enables it to support satellite newsgathering services for domestic and international news agencies.
