Space Imaging Southeast Asia, an affiliate of U.S.-based Space Imaging, has begun direct tasking and data collection of high-resolution imagery from the IKONOS satellite. The operations as well as the receiving antenna and processing facility are located in Bangkok, Thailand. MappointAsia, a regional mapping/remote sensing company, will operate the ground station.

Space Imaging Southeast Asia and its customers are able to use IKONOS imagery for large-scale mapping of the region for urban planning and zoning, infrastructure planning, airport and harbor management, insurance and risk management, disaster assessment, natural resource management and environmental monitoring, national security and many other geospatial applications.
