Loral Skynet, a subsidiary of Loral Space & Communications [NYSE: LOR], provided in-orbit capacity to assist Discovery Health Network in presenting a live broadcast from inside maternity wards of hospitals in Los Angeles, Detroit, Orlando, Fla., and Phoenix.

Using Loral Skynet’s (Bedminster, N.J.) Telstar 6 satellite, mobile productions provider All Mobile Video (New York City) collected live feeds from each of the four hospitals. The program was produced at All Mobile’s production center at Florida Hospital in Orlando, and distributed to cable head-ends and direct-to-home satellite providers throughout North America.
