French Football Rights Under Scrutiny

      The French anti-trust authority is looking into a complaint by French pay-TV satellite operator TPS that the recent football rights deal struck between Canal+ and the French football league is illegal. The original deal gives Canal+ exclusive rights for all live matches, pay-per-view and highlights of top division French football from 2004 through 2007. A decision could be reached by early next week.
