UK teleport operator Kingston TLI has won the contract to beam the B4U movie channel to the Middle East. B4U stands for Bollywood For You; Bollywood is the popular name for the Indian film industry. Kingston said it will be responsible for a complete package, including terrestrial backhaul from London, encoding and multiplexing, encryption, conditional access and subscriber management, as well as use of its transponder capacity on the Sirius 2 satellite. The programming will be downlinked in Italy and then reuplinked for distribution to the Middle East via one of the Arabsat consortium’s satellites and the Nilesat 1 satellite.
