SINCE its launch on March 6, Recrut Interactif, the classified job ads supertext service on TPS, has proved to be a great success with subscribers, claimed Bachir Ghalayini, Director of Minisat, at a press briefing on the service last week.

“Interactive TV is like other media and can integrate advertising,” he said. Minisat specialises in distributing advertising via a variety of media, starting with the Minitel 15 years ago, now including printed press and Internet. Minisat is the same company that launched the homes for sale/rent classifieds on TPS in November 1998. The new classified jobs offering on TPS consists of a database of adverts, enabling selection by several criteria using the digital terminal – such as geographical region, salary, qualification, industry sector, and so on. The user can enter a mini (or rather, micro) resumé into the terminal and reply directly to the ads, transmitting the data via the modem. 1,390 resumés were transmitted in the first week of the service, the total to date being 6,700 at an average of 160 a day. Job offers can be entered directly by the advertiser and are valid for two weeks.
