Iceye has delivered control over a radar satellite constellation to the Polish Armed Forces for sovereign intelligence. Iceye reported Friday that it delivered the capability in less than 12 months after contract signing.
In that time, Iceye launched four synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites and provided training for military operators. A segment of the Polish Armaments Group delivered the ground segment and mobile infrastructure for the constellation. The full contract was valued at approximately 200 million euro.
The constellation is operated by ARGUS, Poland’s Geospatial Intelligence and Satellite Services Agency, which was established by the Ministry of National Defence in 2024. It has been named POLSARIS, which stands for Polish SAR Intelligence System.
Poland’s MoD called it a milestone toward establishing modern intelligence-gathering capabilities for the nation.
“We are investing in technologies that strengthen our security, information autonomy, and rapid response capabilities. Thanks to satellite Earth observation systems, the Polish military is gaining a tool of strategic importance,” said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence.
