[Satellite TODAY 02-08-13] Cobham is preparing a preview of an ultra-small wireless HD camera transmitter at the NAB 2013 show that will take place in Las Vegas this April. The new Solo Micro HD transmitter has the size of a matchbox and provides transmission stability for high-quality HD images using low-latency H.264 compression.
Together with Cobham’s UMVL (ultra mobile video link) modulation, the Solo Mirco HD enables wireless and wired cameras to perform as a unified system with latency as low as 15ms.
Additionally, the company is also launching a new HD MPEG4 IP Encoder that can be connected to almost any camera. It was specifically created for broadcast applications with a balanced audio inputs and broadcast-standard IFB talkback.
NAB will also mark the North American debut of the Cobham’s MediaMesh, a lightweight, rapid set-up field newsroom that enables live broadcast. It includes a broadcast quality transmission path for live two-ways; remote camera control; high quality file transfer; plus a high-capacity Internet connection with access to base newsroom computers and cell phones.
