[Satellite TODAY 04-27-11] AMI Aviation Services was selected by satellite communications equipment manufacturer Thrane & Thrane to act as its Aviator SwiftBroadband portfolio reseller and service provider in the United States, Thrane announced April 26.
    AMI Aviation Services specializes in installation, modification and repair of avionics systems and associated structural parts for a range of commercial and business aircraft. Thrane & Thrane said the partnership would enable AMI to offer customers a variety of satellite communications solutions backed by technical support in the field.
    “We have worked alongside AeroMech for several years to develop certifications for a wide range of Thrane & Thrane products … With its own FAA-certified PMA facility, AMI offers specialist capabilities to carry out installations and certifications and is well-positioned to support new and existing customers with the Thrane & Thrane Aviator product range,” Thrane & Thrane Regional Aeronautical Sales Manager Scott Hall said in a statement.
